Can a computer freeze because of the peripherals or is there something wrong with the hard drive?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: fix computer freeze

A man who fixes computers says the screen keeps freezing due to a fault in one of the peripherals (monitor/printer/keyboard etc.) but he can't seem to pinpoint the problem or fix it. I only thought that this happened if there was a problem with the hard drive (e.g. virus). What are the main reasons for a computer freezing? Is this man a waste of time?

I'd say it was more to do with your graphics card other than anything else.

How do I fix my computer problems?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: how to fix computer problems

I have a 2 year old pc that won't do hardly anything. I doubleclick on something, and nothing happens. Is there anything I can do to clean this up? Is this a hardwar or software problem?

Do a straight reinstall. Get the original Windows software aind perform a new installation. To do this you have to boot from the CD and reinstall Windows. You will lose all of your old software but if you backup everything beforehand losses will be minimal.

Will system restore work to fix a computer crash? ?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: fix computer crash

I have no idea how that all works, but I know I don’t have the things necessary to backup my computer. And I HAVE to do something that may crash my computer if I’m not careful. Any help please? I use XP home. I only have one hardrive.

If you computer is crashing regularly, there may be something wrong that system restore might be able to fix. System Restore can’t fix everything, but it can sometimes prove helpful.

System restore can return your computer to a previous date, perhaps before you installed a new piece of software or a driver for some of your hardware.

Just click Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore , and select return your computer to a previous date.

If your worried about losing data on your machine and you don’t have either a USB flash drive, a CD/DVD ROM drive or similar, you can back up smaller files such as documents, spreadsheets etc by emailing them to yourself. Just write yourself an email and attach the files.

It would help if you could be specific about when your computer crashes, e.g. what program/s your using, and your system specifications.
