How To Reboot PC Computers Now

Posted by: JD Chang  :  Category: pc repair online

Does your computer need restarting? The science of the right computer rebooting is not that easy – you don’t just shut down your computer.

To reboot your computer the correct way – and to avoid serious OS errors and registry problems that could cause longer-term problems, read this article. I’ll provide 5 steps to properly rebooting any PC or Mac computer without damages to the OS.

Sometimes even a slowly running computer needs reboot to speed it up!

Step 1. Close and save programs

If your computer isn’t completely frozen, make sure to close all programs. When computers restart, they delete short-term memory. This means that any Microsoft Excel worksheet that you were working on will be deleted unless you SAVE IT NOW.

Step 2. Make sure there are no scripts or processes still going

If there are running actions like a defragmentation hard drive or burning a CD in iTunes, these movements could be terminated and cause irreparable damage to both the software application itself as well as any associated files.

Step 3. Do a “soft PC reboot” through the Start Menu

I’m talking only to Windows OS users now, but the same general logic applies to Apple Macbook users too. Find the Shutdown options, and click “Restart”.

Step 4. If that doesn’t work at all, do a “hard computer reboot”

This is when all else fails and a soft reboot “Restart” isn’t working. Find your power button, and hold it down. Do not let go! That’s important – hold it down until your entire processor shuts off (usually in 5 seconds).

Your computer has been forced into power down – what’s known as a hard PC reboot. This unfortunately will cause data loss and in the wrong circumstances, corrupt programs and operating system files.

Step 5. Once your computer has restarted/rebooted

Do a thorough check of main apps that load on startup. Often these are the first to get nukked during rebooting and restarting. Remember, proper rebooting removes the need to find computer repair parts!

Are you familiar with online PC repair services, specifically Reimage.com?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: pc repair online

I found Reimage.com through File Hippo, which I consider to be a trusted site. Not sure about the legitimacy of Reimage.com though.

It's the standard deal where they scan your pc for free and then, if you want the repair, you have to pay.

FYI, my scan revealed that my old computer has:
* Low Free Memory
*Only 479 MB of Memory
*Hard Disk Drive speed is only 18MB/second

I KNOW I desperately need a new computer, but that would be a tough option right now. Should I use this, or another, online repair service to buy myself more time before being forced to get a new one?

Given the specific things this scan found, can those even be fixed without new hardware? Is there another option, short of buying that new PC, that you would recommend?

I appreciate your advice on this.
Btw, I do regularly run several programs, including: CCleaner, Ad Aware, Spybot, DiscKeeper, and a few others.

Start control panel Click to open System.

In the left pane, click Advanced system settings. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.

Click the Advanced tab, and then, under Virtual memory, click Change.

Clear the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives check box.

Under Drive [Volume Label], click the drive that contains the paging file you want to change.

Click Custom size, type a new size in megabytes in the Initial size (MB) or Maximum size (MB) box, click Set, and then click OK.

Ps memmory is not expensive I just got 2 gigs for $40
