Someone please help with my computer problems it's annoying me so much idk how to fix it, PLEASE?

Okay so I'm 14 and while I was away my idiot brother messed up my computer and the sound isn't working. I honestly don't have a clue what could be wrong, and that little rat IS actually telling the truth that he did not do anything I know for a fact.
Tips/Ideas?
*Help please it is so annoying because I am constantly being sent religious videos from my mother and can not listen to them when I N EED to.
Check to see if the volume is down to low on the speakers.
Check also to see if the sound has been muted (little speaker looking thing at lower right corner of desktop).
Make sure speakers are actually plugged in.
