How can I fix my computer freezing problem?
Basically, when my net/wireless net is on and connected, whether I'm surfing the net or not…my computer will freeze, and sometimes will take me 4-5 reboots or more before it will reboot enough to be used. Nothing works when this happens, keyboard, mousepad, ctrl alt del, nothing. Nothing had been changed or added or deleted to cause this. This is an emachine laptop. HELP

I would do a scan of the computer with Stinger. This is a program designed specifically to detect viruses that attack anti-virus software. If it turns up a hit (finds even one instance of such a virus), you will have to uninstall your anti-virus. You can get stinger here:

Make sure you have another copy of your anti-virus to install. Either disable the Internet, or boot to safe mode with no network support. Disable system restore. Uninstall your anti-virus and clean out all temporary files.
Reboot (again, disable the Internet). Run stinger again to ensure no more of the virus that attacks your anti-virus software. If your system is clean of that, install your normal anti-virus. Run a complete scan. Yes, your anti-virus will not be up-to-date, but you want your system to be as clean as possible before reconnecting to the Internet. If the scan turns up clean, reboot and reconnect to the Internet. Update the anti-virus software. Yep, another complete scan. If this turns up nothing, you should be good to go.
I got hit two days ago with a worm, despite having my anti-virus up-to-date and a firewall in place. My system would grind almost to a halt at times. I was hit by the W32/Sdbot.worm!ftp. The above procedure fixed my machine and should fix yours if you got hit by a nasty.

Start your computer in safe mode and scan with them all, fix any problems they find.
